What H2O Fitness is
Where aquatic fitness, breath control, stress-response conditioning, and community meet.
Breath Control
Learn to work with your breath, not against it, so you stay composed as effort rises.
Aquatic Capacity
Build real physical work capacity in and around the water, scaled to your level.
Calm Under Pressure
Practice staying measured when demands climb, then carry that composure out of the pool.
Community
Train alongside people from every background, ability, and starting point.
Do I need to be an advanced swimmer?
No. Our All Levels sessions welcome first-timers and experienced swimmers alike. New athletes start with an Intro Orientation, where a coach assesses your comfort in the water, walks you through the skills, and helps you build confidence before you join the main workout. Everything is scalable and coach-supported.
What to bring: active swimwear, a towel, and goggles. We keep extras on hand.

METHODOLOGY
Composure under load
H2O Fitness pairs physical load with breath control and progressive exposure to controlled stress. As effort rises, you practice keeping your breathing and attention steady — building water confidence, composure, and efficient performance.
We don't chase breath-hold records or train through distress. Sessions are structured, coached, and scaled to you.

COMMON QUESTIONS
Before you dive in
Everything you need to know about your first session.
Do I need to know how to swim?
No — and this is the most common question we get. Our All Levels sessions are designed for everyone, from people who haven't been in a pool in years to experienced swimmers. First-timers start with an Intro Orientation, where your coach assesses your comfort level, walks you through the skills, and helps you build water confidence before the main workout. Everything is scalable and coach-supported. You'll never be left on your own.
What happens in my first session?
Arrive 15 minutes early so your coach can complete your Intro Orientation. From there, a typical session flows through four stages: a land-based warm-up, guided breathwork to set your baseline, progressive in-water work scaled to your level, and a cooldown to reset. The whole session is coached — you'll know exactly what to do at every step. Bring active swimwear, a towel, and goggles (we keep extras on hand if you forget).
How do I sign up and what does it cost?
Book directly on our Schedule page, powered by Momence. If it's your first time, look for the intro offer — it's the simplest way in. We offer single sessions, class packs, and memberships. Current pricing is always live on the Pricing page.
What's the difference between All Levels, Water Con, and Beach x Breathe?
All Levels is where most people start — welcoming, scalable, and open to every ability. Water Con is for members ready to push further: military prep, active duty, veterans, first responders, and anyone chasing a higher ceiling with more demanding loads and sharper breath control. Beach x Breathe is apnea-informed breathwork and conditioning on land — no pool required. Not sure? Start with All Levels.
Where are sessions held and how often do they run?
We train at five aquatic facilities across San Diego County: La Jolla (Coggan Family Aquatic Complex), Coronado, Del Mar, Chula Vista, and UCSD. Sessions run throughout the week — check the live schedule for current days, times, and locations. You can filter by class type and location to find what fits.
